If this is your first pistol, I STRONGLY recommend you go with the 92x over the glock, and I will tell you why: no matter how much more conceal friendly the Glock is, it's a form of subcompact pistol, and those suffer as a new shooter's firearm, as recoil can be harder and accuracy can suffer quite a bit depending on skill set and comfort level.
Beretta 92x centurion vs glock 19 series#
A 92 series just may not suit you needs best right now. But don’t sweat it, you’ll join the Beretta club soon enough. M&P makes a whole host of guns in various shapes and sizes, Beretta makes the PX4 and APX, Sig Sauer has the P320 and P365 series, Ruger, Canik…Īgain, TL DR: I think Glock is the safe choice here. If Glock doesn’t end up working for you at all, whether the grip angle or something else doesn’t work for you, there’s tons of other good options within that price bracket you may like. Saving money on the gun and accessories means more money spent on training and ammo.

It seems like everyone and their sister’s dog makes holsters for Glock. Aftermarket parts are easy to get and most gun shops and gunsmiths will know their way around a Glock easily and can answer questions you may have in-person.

Glock is a much more cost-efficient company, usually too. The G19 is super well-sized for many shooters and I think with the 43X’s similar grip length, you may end up liking it too. Both are quite manageable with 9mm, especially as you get to be more familiar shooting handguns. I’ve not personally had the chance to shoot a 43X, but I’ve shot a 43 and own a 19.
Beretta 92x centurion vs glock 19 plus#
The 43X’s grip length is a little bit more close to the 19’s size, so they will conceal similarly (usually the grip length is the hardest part to hide under clothing), plus you can buy aftermarket magazines from Shield Arms which flush-fit the 43X (not the regular 43) and bump capacity up to 15-which is also Glock 19 territory, or many Beretta mags. Not to be generic-and out of place for this subreddit-but the G43X or even Glock 19 would be good to consider. I don’t personally think the Beretta would be best for you. You’re not too far off from my build, physically. If it's not in your near future, a 92 is a good gun to have. TL DR: Both are good guns and can do it all, but G43X is universally a better concealed carry gun, if you are in a position where you can already CCW or will be soon. I would personally prefer to have a full-size gun as a nightstand gun and IMO a light on any defense-oriented gun is never a bad idea, but don't shrug off the utility of a dedicated handheld light for positive ID. I would venture to guess the 92 will be much more fun to shoot, but you may see why not a lot of people buy them to EDC concealed.Īll that being said, either will definitely do the job as a home defense gun. If you've not yet had the chance to handle and shoot these guns side-by-side, I highly encourage you to do so and you will see how different of animals they each are. a 43/43X can hide under a tank top and shorts with the right holster. Unless you're a pretty well-built person, you may not be able to hide a full-size gun very well, especially 12 months of the year. the 92 is noticeably larger, though a similar weight. Also, before buying the 92FS, I thought my Browning Hi-Power was big. But I like to have the option to CCW any of my guns. However, I probably will not be able to effectively hide it except under layers in the winter. Beretta 92s are LORGE bois.įor example, I CCW a G19 or FN 509C every day, but am getting a concealment holster for my new 92FS. Just about anyone can conceal a 43 or 43X pretty well in various positions and wardrobes. If you already have the ability to legally concealed carry, I would personally recommend the G43X. The 92X is designed more for competition, as well as duty/combat. A few questions: Do you already have a concealed carry permit/live in a Constitutional carry state? Follow-up: what is your physical build like and how do you usually dress? What is your budget? Have you handled and shot either of them before?īoth guns are held in high regard for many reasons, but the G43X is definitely designed around concealment.
